How could a guy lose to a girl in an athletic event?
Simple, really.

In all sincerity, though, I’m ok with my circumstances.
I’m doing laundry, reading, and writing on a Saturday night, too. There was a loud birthday party two floors up about twenty minutes ago— that’s about all the excitement I’ve seen. High five, stay-at-home buddy.
High five indeed :)

Today’s pathetic levels have reached a new high! Not only did I fold tons of plastic bags today, I just watched a ton of cat videos. On a Saturday night. Alone.
I might need to adopt about 50 cats to live up (or down) to my cat lady rep. Because apparently, that’s what I am *sob*
In all sincerity, though, I’m ok with my circumstances.

Because I have short hair in a country where short-haired women are scarce, I’ve more than once been confused for a guy. This has always been when the confused person was behind me, though (which is still kind of sad, because I _do_ have a butt, dammit!).
Yesterday, however, I went out to ride my bike for a little while. When I got back, two little kids, about 4 and 5, were playing on the...

Adorable little felt bird!

Reminds me a lot of Andy Runton’s Owly!
Oooh, how cute!
Vonnegut's eight rules for writing a short story:
Use the time of a total stranger in such a way that he or she will not feel the time was wasted.
Give the reader at least one character he or she can root for.
Every character should want something, even if it is only a glass of water.
Every sentence must do one of two things—reveal character or advance the action.
Start as close to the end as possible.
Be a Sadist. No matter how sweet and...

Tonight, I might curl myself into a tight ball and sleep inside my fridge.
Counterpoint: Hot weather is the best weather. SF tends to stay between 50 and 70 (on “hot” days) year-round, save for one week of heat in August and a couple weeks of cold weather in winter. Back home in Georgia, 90 degree days were common and wonderful. Right now, it’s rainy and muggy out here,...

Today, it is 32ºC (91ºF) outside which feel like 37ºC (98ºF) because of the humidity. Today is also the day I decided to thoroughly clean my house (dust, sweep and mop) and go to the supermarket. I am so tempted to strip down to my bikini and lie among the frozen vegetables, but I’m not sure it’ll go down well with the supermarket folk.

I feel like I’ve been on a book-looting adventure!
One of my favorite artists, like top three, is Argentinean. Eduardo Risso. I pulled some panels from his work out after 100 Bullets ended last year, just as kind of a tribute thing. Here are few links to check out. His stuff looks great in black and white, too.
That is a very interesting bit of information there!...

My mom’s best friend from her college days invited me over for dinner last night. She never married and she doesn’t have kids, and I think she’s kind of lonely. I’m going to be alone aaall summer, so I told her we had to meet up more (and I’m planning on keeping my promise). I think that this is my “Are you a mature person yet?” test: I can get along...

Here’s my Doppelgänger again! I love the jazzy feel of this cover.
i think we (the entire internet, i am the official spokesman) now need a video of you covering this cover.
Hello, official spokesman of the internet! I’m sorry to say that if I covered this cover, your ears would bleed.

I just successfully unstitched, shortened and reattached the straps on a new shirt. I feel like I should take a Victory drink or something.

I’m back to picking up where I left off Lost a few years ago, watching it online with amateur subtitles in Spanish. The “translator” translated “big-ass horse” into “caballo de culo gordo,” as in “horse with a big ass.” I might start saying that in Spanish in my every day speech.
With all that in mind, which is the hardest language? On balance The Economist...
